As you’ll know from my other blogs, I occasionally find myself jetting off around the world. As an event planner, global travel is a vital—and often hugely enjoyable!—part of my job. So it was that in October of last year I touched down amid the flashing neon lights, wide boulevards and slot machines of Las Vegas. I felt a little overwhelmed at first, not unlike Dr Raoul Duke in Hunter S. Thompson’s infamous Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. But I soon acclimatised. And, contrary to the opinion of my colleagues, I was not there to gamble away my wages (though I did have a brief flutter at the blackjack table). The reason for my visit was the America’s worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events - IMEX America.
